West Sussex and The South Downs National Park: Saturday 7th September 2019
We are delighted to announce details of this year’s Gathering of Scholars and Annual General Meeting of the Trust, to be held in and around the South Downs National Park on Saturday 7th September 2019. The AGM is set for 4pm at The Parish Church of St Mary & St Gabriel, South Harting, GU31 5QQ.
Moving south from previous years, we begin the day by gathering at West Dean College before a short (15 min) walk to the Weald and Downland Living Museum, where we have first tour and talk at the new Gridshell Building by Cullinan Studio. From here, coaches will take us for Lunch at the GI Listed C13th St Andrews Church, Didling and on to GI Listed C12th Parish Church of St Mary & St Gabriel, South Harting, for our second talk and the AGM. Finally, we will be transported by back to West Dean College for House and Garden Tours, followed by a Drinks Reception and Dinner. Please note that no accommodation is available at West Dean College but there are many local B&B’s, hotels and camping.
On Sunday, you might consider joining an optional visit (payable on arrival) to view the buildings at the fascinating and much debated Weald and Downland Living Museum.
