Edinburgh, Scotland: Saturday 9th September 2023
We are delighted to announce details of this year’s Gathering of Scholars and Annual General Meeting of the Trust, to be held in and around Edinburgh over the weekend of Saturday 9th September 2023. The AGM is set for 4pm at Magdalen Chapel, 41 Cowgate, Edinburgh EH1 1JR.
Though not formally organised, some members will visit Little Sparta on their journey up and there will be a meet up in The Guildford Arms, 1 West Register St, EH2 2AA from around 8pm – also to laud the cyclists Paul and Dec after their fundraising journey from Kendal.
A much called for Scotland gathering, we begin the AGM day by with refreshments and a tour of recent refurbishment and alteration works to Greyfriars Charteris Centre with its Architect Kieran Gaffney, of Konishi Gaffney Architects. We are looking to arrange a further morning visit, TBC, before the Picnic Lunch, at Barclay Viewforth Church including a talk from previous church architect Steward Todd and his daughter Rosalind, of Todd & Taylor Architects. Our AGM will be held in the C16th Magdalen Chapel on Cowgate before a three course meal.
On the Sunday, we will undertake a tour of the Robert Adam designed Gosford House, with great thanks to the Earl of Weymess.
Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park is suggested for those who may wish to camp as a group.
