The SPAB Scholarship is awarded annually to up to four young architects, building surveyors or structural engineers who have completed their college-based training and have a demonstrable enthusiasm for historic building conservation. You can find information about applying for the SPAB Scholarship programme on the SPAB website.
For six months the Scholars will travel throughout the country together meeting and staying with fellow building professionals and craftspeople working on historic sites and in workshops and studios throughout the British Isles. In addition the Scholars will gain direct hands-on experience guided by experts in the field.
The 2017 Scholars are Kristian Foster, Aoife Murphy and Lilian Tuohy Main – pictured here with Dance Trust Chairman Dorian Crone. They started their programme on Monday 14th March and we wish them luck with their travels! You can follow their adventures on the SPAB blog.
