The Lime Cycle – Cycling Fundraiser 2019
SPAB Lethaby Scholars 2016, Tríona Byrne, Declan Cahill and Gethin Harvey and Conor Meehan (Scholar 2013), gallantly completed a 377km fundraising cycle over the Easter weekend, from the grave of John Ruskin at St. Andrew’s Church, Coniston to the grave of William Morris at St. George’s Church, Kelmscott.
“Having all completed the prestigious 9-month SPAB scholarship programme ourselves at different points in the last 20 years, we are hoping to ‘give back’ to the scholarship fund in some way. We are all architects, engineers or building surveyors working in conservation of historic buildings, who are passionate about protection of built heritage and promotion of traditional craft skills. Morris and Ruskin are two of the biggest influences on the SPAB and therefore, by sponsoring future SPAB scholars, we will be enabling the legacy of their work and philosophy to be continued.” Declan Cahill
The Trust extends great thanks for the hard work, grit and determination these four put in to raising funds to help towards our goal of supporting two bursaries for the scholarship in the future.
